(see Fig. 8.2) of main Operating Instructions) of air tem
perature control in the cab clockwise to the angle of not less than 10°;
— start the preheater by pushing the button (timer lefthand button);
— warm up the engine depending on the ambient air temperature for the
following period of time:
10–15 min. at the temperature of minus 10–20°
C;
20–25 min. at the temperature of minus 30°
C;
40–45 min. at the temperature of minus 45°
C;
— start the engine similarly to engine starting without engine start assist
ing devices;
— smoothly engage the clutch pedal (disengaging for several times, if required);
— turn off the preheater pushing the button;
— warm up the engine at idle speed or under load (when driving in the
first and the second gears) with medium engine speed, providing that the en
gine takes up load (capable of speed varying when changing of fuel supply).
Note:
To increase the engine warming up efficiency it is necessary to fasten the heating
cover to the radiator shell.
8.2. FUELAIR MIXTURE PREHEATING
(ZMZ4061, 4063, 40522 ENGINES)
Fuelair mixture preheating is carried out by the coolant of the engine cool
ing system in the intake manifold.
At the ambient air temperature below 5°C the hose of the air filter should
be shifted on the connection pipe (on the engine exhaust manifold).
8.3. OIL COOLER COCK
(on some of ZMZ4061, 4063 engines)
The cock is located on the right side of the middle part of the cylinder block
under the intake pipe.
At air temperature above +5°C set the cock handle along the hose to bring
the oil cooler into operation.
At air temperature below +5°C set the cock handle at right angle to the
hose to shut off the oil cooler.
8.4.VEHICLE DRIVING
It is recommended to start vehicle driving with the engine warmed up. If
there is no such possibility and the engine is warming up on the moving vehi
cle it is advisable at low temperature of ambient air and after prolonged park
