NOTE
It may be necessary to apply some force for unlocking the grinder burrs. Refer to
the advices in chapter ‘Solving Problems’, when you find it difficulty to remove or
install the bean hopper.
6. Grasp the grinder burrs at the metal handle and turn the grinder burrs counter-
clockwise (approx. 1/8 revolution). Then, move the grinder burrs out. Brush any
residues of coffee powder off the grinder burrs via a
dry
, small nylon brush.
7. Use a soft, clean, and
completely dry
food brush or the
completely dry
, provided
cleaning brush for removing the residues of coffee beans and powder from the inte-
rior of the grinder. Wipe the grinder outlet and grinder cradle with a soft cloth.
8. Replace the grinder burrs and turn the grinder burrs clockwise via the handle until
they settle within the grinder and are locked stably.
9. Ensure that the bean hopper is completely dry. Ensure that the shutter at the bot-
tom of the bean hopper is closed completely. If required, turn the shutter protru-
sion manually to the closed position.
10. Replace the bean hopper with the grind size graduation facing to the rear of
the machine onto the grinder intake. Ensure that the shutter protrusion slides into
the slit at the rim of the grinder intake.
Without violence
press the bean hopper
down, while turning the bean hopper clockwise until the grind size graduation
faces to the front. Close the bean hopper via the hopper lid.
CLEANING THE STEAM WAND
Proteins of the milk easily build hard crusts and block the opening in the steam wand tip.
Therefore, after each use, you need to purge the steam wand via the hot water function.
After purging, wipe the steam wand using a damp cloth. Additionally, clean the steam
wand according to the following instructions, if you do not wish to use the appliance for
some hours (over night). This way, you ensure a stably high performance and avoid a
stale and rancid odour and taste of your beverages.
However, always keep in mind,
that the steam wand will be hot during use and some time thereafter.
NOTE
Even a partially blocked opening may influence the performance of the steam
wand. This holds especially, when texturing milk.
CAUTION
– Do not use any hard or sharp-edged tools (e.g. pliers) for
unscrewing the steam wand tip to avoid damage to the surfaces. Only the bulged
steam wand tip can be removed.
