WARNING - RISK OF BURNS!
– During operation, some parts of
the appliance get very hot (e.g. group head, portafilter and filter basket, steam
wand). Only touch hot parts via the dedicated handles. Additionally, the appli-
ance is designed to produce hot water and hot steam under high pressure. Always
ensure to assemble the appliance completely and correctly before starting a func-
tion. Do not hold your hands and arms under the group head or steam wand,
while a function is selected and some time thereafter.
WARNING - RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK!
– Keep your work-
space clean and dry. Do not let any liquids run on or under the appliance. After
operation, the appliance drains surplus water into the drip tray automatically.
Do
not remove the drip tray, immediately after the appliance has been in opera-
tion to avoid that drained water runs out.
Always wait at least 20 seconds after
operation, before emptying the drip tray.
CAUTION
– Before starting operation, always ensure that the drip tray and
water tank are assembled correctly. For operation, the filling level in the water tank
must lie between the “MIN” and “MAX” markings (0.5-2.8 litres). Descale the
appliance in time for avoiding damage to the water system and excessive energy
loss (see: ‘Descaling the Water System’). The manufacturer will not be liable for
any damage caused by excessive build-up of scale.
IMPORTANT -
The water hardness and the frequency of usage determine the fre-
quency of descaling. As a rule of thumb, descale the appliance after approx. 15
litres of water ran through the water system or at least, when the descaling warning
is given (see: ‘Descaling the Water System’). We recommend to change the water
daily. Only use clear, fresh tap water or a low-mineral table water. Do not use
any other types of water or any other liquids. When the appliance has not been
used for approx. 1 week, we recommend to flush the water system (see: ‘Before
First Use / Flushing the Water System’).
Various useful tips concerning the properties and use of the espresso machine are
given in ‘Properties of Your Espresso Machine’ and ‘Tips for Best Results’.
NOTE
The various functions of the appliance (steam, hot water, and extraction) cannot
be used simultaneously. When the control dial is turned to the hot water or steam
function, any running extraction is cancelled immediately.
