The Easy Solution
Coffee powder sticks to
the sealing ring of the
group head or the sealing
ring is worn out, damaged
or missing.
Clean the group head (see: ‘Care and Cleaning’). For
cleaning the group head, only use a soft cloth or SOFT
nylon brush. If the problem persists, get in contact with
an authorized service centre for examination and repair.
Do not poke in the group head with any hard
or sharp-edged objects
.
The coffee powder is tam-
ped too firmly.
Do not apply too much force for tamping (12-13 kg).
No steam and no hot water
is given off AND/OR the hot
water and steam functions
stop unexpectedly.
The steam wand is
clogged.
Leave the steam wand cool down completely. Then clean
the steam wand (see: ‘Care and Cleaning’).
The water tank is empty. Always ensure that the water tank is filled at least up to
the “MIN” marking, before starting a function.
The automatic shut-off of
the selected function (hot
water or steam) has been
triggered.
Hot water function:
max. 180-220 ml can be taken
until automatic shut-off.
Steam function:
max. 5
minutes in contiuous operation. Turn the control dial to
the central standby position and wait, until all function
icons illuminate again.
Unpleasant smell and/or
taste of your coffee or tex-
tured milk.
The appliance is used for the
very first time or after an
elongated period of storage.
Clean the appliance and its accessories. Thoroughly flush
the water system (see: ‘Before First Use’).
You did not purge the
water system sufficiently
after descaling and/or the
descaling process has been
terminated prematurely.
Flush the water system (see: ‘Before First Use’).
The coffee beans in the
bean hopper have gone
bad.
Remove stale coffee beans from the bean hopper and cle-
an the grinder (see: ‘Care and Cleaning’). Thereafter, fill
in fresh coffee beans and discard the first dosage.
The water in the water
tank is stale.
Clean and rinse the water tank thoroughly (see: ‘Care and
Cleaning / Cleaning the Water Tank’). Avoid leaving resi-
dues of water in the water tank, when the appliance is not
in use. Empty and rinse the water tank at least daily.
Water accumulates under or
beneath the appliance.
The water tank is over-
filled.
Do not overfill the water tank. Observe the “MAX” mar-
king (2.8 litres).
