Figure 8: Fibre Optic Connections inside Control Cabinet
The connections of the fibre optic cables to the UV Source Block and the spectrometer do
not need to be more than hand tight. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN! Once the fibre optic cables
have been connected to the UV Source Block and the spectrometer, tighten the nuts on the
fibre optic cable glands on the outside of the control cabinet.
While handling the fibre optic cables, be careful not to bend them too severely or
kink the fibre optic cables, as this may cause permanent irreparable damage to
the glass fibres inside the cable.
Route the fibre optic cables from the control cabinet to the oven cabinet. The chosen route
between the control cabinet and the oven cabinet should not allow the fibre optic cables to
hang loosely or be exposed where they might be easily damaged. Pass the fibre optic cables
into the oven enclosure entries located at the rear of the oven enclosure as shown in Figure
9.
