If the connections are leak-tight and company safety personnel have deemed
the atmosphere to be safe, breathing apparatus may now be removed.
5. Do not reinstall the oven cabinet lid at this time.
2.4.4 Connection of the Interconnecting Cables
Once the oven cabinet and the control cabinet have been securely mounted and the probe
installed, it will be necessary to connect the intrinsically safe wiring for the probe and
measurement cell RTDs and cell pressure transducer, as well as the heater power and
solenoid valve control wiring. Refer to the drawings in Section 9 of this manual for all wiring
connection details.
2.4.5 Installing the Fibre Optic Cables
Once the oven cabinet and control cabinet have been securely mounted and the probe
installed, it will be necessary to connect the fibre optic cables that transfer ultraviolet radiation
from the UV source lamp inside the control cabinet to the sample measurement cell and from
the sample measurement cell back to the spectrometer inside the control cabinet. There are
2 fibre optic cables supplied with the analyzer. One is labelled “Source Fibre” and the other
is labelled “Spectrometer Fibre”. Each fibre optic cable has a potted fixture near one end as
shown in Figure 6.
