5.2.4 hostname
Function
Changes the hostname of the XG1200.
Use the no form to return to the default ("xg").

hostname HOST-NAME
no hostname
Parameter
HOST-NAME
Specifies the hostname of the XG1200. Specify the hostname using 63 characters or less, with an alphabet character
at the beginning.
Follow the rules below for the hostname and domain name:

Characters usable for the name
Alphabet ([a - z], [A - Z]), numerical characters ([0 - 9]), hyphen (-), and period (.)

Alphabet ([a - z], [A - Z])

Last characters
Alphabet ([a - z], [A - Z]), numerical characters ([0 - 9]), and period (.)

Example
Specify the hostname of the XG1200 to be "xg2."
The beginning of the prompt character will change to "xg2."
Also, when switching to the administrator exec mode and displaying the system status, you can confirm that the System Name
has been changed to "xg2."
