6.4 General
Troubleshooting
This section explains the troubleshooting procedure for this library device. For
information about problems and troubleshooting related to the host and application
software, refer to the manuals for each host system and applications. If the problem still
cannot be solved, report it to the maintenance person.
CAUTION
Data loss:
Before turning off and then turning on the power again,
consult with the system administrator. Do not turn off and then turn
on the power when the interface is active. Otherwise, data loss or a
hang-up of the host system may occur.
6.4.1 Power

Library power is not on.

Check all power cable connections.
--
Confirm that the power switch is turned on.
--
Confirm that all power outlets are live. Try other outlets.
--
Confirm that the library is receiving power by checking that the LED lamp on
the back of the device is on and that the fan is rotating.

If the problem still cannot be solved, contact maintenance personnel.

The power-on test fails, or an error message is displayed on the operator panel.

Perform recovery from the operator panel.

Write down the error code and contact maintenance personnel.
6.4.2 Connections

The LOOP ID of the drive has been changed, but the host computer cannot identify
the new ID.

Confirm that all the devices on the same FC bus have different IDs.

Restart the host.
--
Contact maintenance personnel.

The host does not detect the library.
--
Confirm that the correct HBA is used.
--
Confirm that the addresses are set correctly.
--
Confirm that the operating system, HBA, and driver are set up correctly.
--
Confirm that the zones are set up correctly.
--
Confirm that the cables are connected correctly.
--
Confirm that the operating system recognizes the library as normal.
--
Confirm that the backup software is compatible with the library.
