Printing
Printing can be controlled from the digital
camera.

Symptom
Cause
Remedy
Printing image data with DPOF settings
specified.

The digital camera cable was connected
while the printer was connected to a PC.
To use the printer with a digital camera
connected, press the [SET] button.

If connection fails, disconnect the USB
cable for the PC and then connect the
digital camera again.
While the printer was connected to a PC
as a card reader, the digital camera cable
was connected before card reader
operation ended.
Will connect after card reader operation
ends.

Wait until card reader operation is fully
completed before connecting the digital
camera cable.
✽
If connection fails, disconnect the USB
cable for the PC and then connect the
digital camera again.
PictBridge connection failed.
Check that the cable is connected securely.
Disconnect the USB cable and then connect
the digital camera again.
Check the paper type and settings.
Printing image data.
Do not turn off the printer.

Preparing the printer and digital camera

Plug the digital camera end of the USB cable
used for PictBridge into the USB port on the
digital camera.

Connect the USB cable to the port on the side of
the printer.
The middle port on the side of the printer is
specifically for PictBridge (digital camera
connection).

When the printer is switched on, the digital
camera connection screen appears.
The table below lists the printable print sizes.
Connect the printer and digital camera with the USB cable used for PictBridge.
TIP
• A digital camera and a
printer are connectable in the
state where a power supply
is not shut off.
• The information shown (paper types, paper sizes and border
settings) indicates the current values for the printer.

• The USB cable used for
PictBridge is the same cable
used for the PC and the
digital camera connecting.
• The USB cable used for
PictBridge may be bundled
with the digital camera or
with the PC connection kit for
the digital camera.
Printing

Select one or more images on the digital camera
and then print the images.
Refer to the Owner’s Manual for your digital
camera for the printing procedure.

For index printing
• The time required to print a 25-frame index of images shot
using a 3-megapixel class digital camera (file sizes of 500-
600KB) is roughly 10 minutes, though this is dependent on
the image content.
• In an index print, corrupted files or unknown files are printed
as blank frames.
