In order that completely fitted modules with sub−base
CPX−AB−4−M12x2−5POL (−R) or CPX−M−...−M12x2−5POL
comply with protection class IP65/IP 67:
·
use plugs and cables from the Festo range for connect
ing the sensors and actuators (see Appendix A.10).
·
Tighten the union nuts of the plugs at first by hand.
·
Seal unused sockets with protective caps type ISK−M12
(see Appendix A.10: Accessories).
The sub−bases with metal thread (type CPX−AB−4−
M12x2−5POL
−R and CPX−M−...−M12x2−5POL) enable fast lock
ing systems to be used, e.g. SPEEDCON from Phoenix Con
tact.

When using fast locking systems follow the manufac
turer’s instructions in order to comply with protection
class IP 65/IP 67.
Screening/shield
On plugs without metal housing:
·
Connect the cable screening to pin5 (functional
earth FE).
On plugs with metal housing:
·
Use the sub−base with metal thread (type CPX−
AB−4−M12x2−5POL
−R
and CPX−M−...−M12x2−5POL).
The metal thread of this sub−base is connected inter
nally with pin5 (functional earth FE).
