Format Hard Disk
Non-Secure (Quick)
Secure (Quick)
Secure (Sanitizing)
Formats the optional internal print
server and deletes all stored print jobs.
You must format an optional internal
print server that has been used with
another printer before using it with
your product.
Non-Secure (Quick)
: quickly deletes
all data on the hard disk. The deleted
data is recoverable with recovery
tools. This option is the fastest, but
should not be used for very sensitive
data.
Secure (Quick)
: quickly overwrites all
data on the hard disk with random
characters. This option is more secure
than
Non-Secure (Quick)
, but the
deleted data may still be recoverable
with recovery tools.
Secure (Sanitizing)
: overwrites all
data on the hard disk with 0xFF data,
then checks the disk using an
algorithm based on the U.S.
Department of Defense standards for
the removal of sensitive data
(DoD5220-22m). This option is the
slowest, but provides the most security
against data recovery.
