Caution:
The Pm8560 is not a Hot Swap compliant module. Removing the Pm8560 while power is
applied, may damage the board. To remove a Pm8560 from a cPCI rack, remove the carrier
card first, then remove the Pm8560 from the carrier card.
Power Requirements
The Emerson Pm8560 circuit board with the processor running at 800 MHz typically
requires from 7.5 to 10.5 watts of power.
Note:
The power value is an approximate–not measured–value.
The exact power requirements for the Pm8560 circuit board depend upon the specific con-
figuration of the board, including the CPU frequency and amount of memory installed on
the board. If you have specific power requirements questions visit Technical Support at
http://www.emersonembeddedcomputing.com/contact/postsalessupport.html on the
internet or send E-mail to [email protected].
Environmental Considerations
As with any printed circuit board, be sure that air flow to the board is adequate. Chassis con-
straints and other factors greatly affect the air flow rate. The environmental requirements
are as follows:

Reset Methods
Several reset sources are available on the Pm8560:
Software:
This causes a hard reset to all components except the CPLD registers.
Front Panel:
This reset switch is accessible through a small hole in the front panel and causes a hard reset
to the entire board including the CPLD registers.
Watchdog:
A watchdog time-out is equivalent to a software initiated hard reset.
