Password Recovery

 

To recover a password: connect via telnet, SSH, or console, enter the 

sh

 command (the device will switch 

from the CLI mode to the SHELL mode), enter the 

restore

 command (the current configuration will be restored), 

enter  the 

passwd

  command  (the  device  will  request  to  enter  and  confirm  a  new  password),  enter  the 

save

 

command, and restart using the 

reboot

 command. The gateway will be restarted with the current configuration 

and the new password. 

If the device is rebooted without any additional operations, the current configuration will be restored on 

the device without password recovery. The gateway will be restarted with the current configuration and the old 
password.
