services configured in the "router" mode.
All broadcast and unknown unicast traffic is redirected to a dedicated broadcast GEM port in this
model. Broadcast and unknown unicast packets come to S-VLAN in the ONT. These packets are
transmitted into the corresponding U-VLANs on the ONT side. In this case, broadcast and unknown
unicast are replicated neither in the OLT nor in the ONT since every service has a separate S-VLAN for
broadcast and unknown unicast traffic.
