6.8.1 REQUIREMENTS OF THE SYSTEM
Minimum requirements of the PC:
processor Pentium class
minimum 8 MB RAM memory
15 MB free space on hard disk for program installation (saving the configuration files needs more free space)
CD-ROM reader
mouse
Serial or USB port
– free – for local connection to the control panel
Operating system Microsoft Windows 95 or later
6.8.2 CALL RECEPTION
The program is able to manage (phone connection only) phone calls coming from WL31TG systems, referring to all
events a
ssociated to a “modem sending” typology.
Caution:
to allow the local and remote connection, the Installer Code and the System Code (assigned by the
Installer) programmed on the system must be identical with those programmed on remote management
software.
6.8.3 REMOTE CONNECTION THROUGH MODEM
Caution:
before connecting, check that in the configuration menu the connection port between modem and
PC, and the control string of the modem are adjusted correctly.
After connecting the serial port of the PC to that present on the modem, select form the System File page the
phone number to be called, and click onto the button
Call.
In the window on the bottom appears the text “CALL IN
PROCESS… ESC TO INTERRUPT”. To interrupt the call, press the key
Esc
of the PC keyboard.
If the connection was successful, the text CONNECTED TO THE SYSTEM appears. To close the connection, click
on the bottom
Close.
If the transmitted codes do not correspond to those of the control panel, this closes the communication, sending the
message CODE FAULTY.
You can enable the Answerer Jump, if on the same phone number there is an Answerer or a Fax, and you want to
pass them. The procedure is:
1. Click into the square
Jump Answerer
2. Select the number of seconds of pause between the line fall, after the first rings, and the connection.
After this adjustment, the modem composes the number, hears 2 or 3 rings and closes the communication, it waits
for the number of seconds selected, and makes the number again: now, the control panel answers after the first
ring.
6.9 ENTERING ALPHANUMERIC CHARACTERS THROUGH THE KEYBOARD
Through the keyboard of the control panel, you can insert alphanumeric characters to give descriptive numbers to
the users, the areas, detectors and other devices of the system. Each key allows to select cyclically one or more
characters (see following table). The insertion point of the new character is indicated by a blinking slider on the
display.
To write a name:

use the keys
▼► and ◄▲to pass to the following or previous position. To cancel the exceeding characters,
use [space].
press OK to store the name or the ESC to leave the procedure without storing it.
