Setting of The Reference (Basic) DAC Curve (DAC TYPE 1)
The reference (basic) DAC curve shall be set using known reflectors in the
reference block.
1. Adjust the time base to appropriate range.
2. Adjust the VELOCITY with regards to actual wave mode used (longitudinal or
transversal). Auto-calibration function may be used to adjust angle transducer
parameters – see 7.2. Automatic Calibration of Probe Delay and Sound
Velocity.
3. Depress the
DAC
Execution key, 2
nd
from the left.
4. Delete all previous DAC points (if any exist) depressing “DEL #xx” button.
5. Make sure that “DAC 1” is displayed – depress “DAC TYPE” button, if needed.
6. TR.CORR shall be set to “0.0 dB” in order to enable settings and/or
adjustments of DAC curve, otherwise points cannot be changed.
7. Adjust gate width so, that it covers sound path range of calibration reflectors.
Echo doesn’t need to cross the gate for DAC adjustment.
8. Place transducer on calibration block
containing reference reflectors and
locate the reflector nearest to the
contact surface.
9. Swivel the transducer to peak the
echo.
10. Depress “#00 ADD” button to record
the first point. Horizontal line appears
at the echo peak.
11. Move transducer and locate second
(deeper) reference reflector.
