Invoking Console Mode
Switching from Microsoft Windows NT to DEC OSF/1 or
OpenVMS
1.
If you are booting DEC OSF/1 or OpenVMS, select
Switch
to OpenVMS or OSF console
from the Setup menu and press
Enter.
2.
Insert the ECU diskette containing the configuration files for
DEC OSF/1 and OpenVMS.
3.
Run the EISA Configuration Utility (ECU) from that
diskette.
For information about running the ECU, refer to
‘‘Configuring EISA Options ’’ in Chapter 3.
4.
Remove the ECU diskette.
5.
Follow the operating system boot procedure for either DEC
OSF/1 or OpenVMS.
Network Options
Overview
The AlphaServer 2000 can support a variety of network options.
If you plan to connect your server to a network, you need to
purchase an EISA or PCI network adapter. The adapter can be
connected to the appropriate bus on the server.
For instructions on connecting your system to a network, consult
the documentation that you receive when you purchase your
network adapter.
