Service and maintenance
9.1
General overview of service and
maintenance
Regular inspection and maintenance of the heating system reduces
energy consumption and ensures a long life and smooth operation.
WARNING
A blocked condensate drain can cause a build-up of con-
densate. This can impair the function of the A2 F and lead
to increased pollutant emissions.
▪ Clean the condensate drain annually.
INFORMATION
Have the inspection and maintenance carried out by au-
thorised and trained heating engineers once a year and, if
possible,
before the heating period
. This will avoid mal-
functions during the heating period.
We recommend an inspection and maintenance contract to
ensure regular inspection and maintenance.
Tests performed during the annual service
▪ General condition of the heating system, visual inspection of con-
nections and pipes.
▪ Check of the water pressure for the cold water supply (<6 bar), in-
stallation or adjustment of a pressure reducer as required (only if a
hot water storage tank is connected).
▪ Burner operation and burner settings.
▪ Check the system water pressure on the RoCon BF controller of
the A2 F.
Top up the water in the heating system until the pressure display
is in the permissible range (see
Chap. 9.2.1
).
Maintenance work to be carried out annually
▪ Cleaning of burner components, combustion chamber, turbolators,
heating surfaces and condensate siphon/condensate box (see
Chap. 9.2.3
).
▪ Exterior cleaning of the boiler cladding.
▪ Check and clean the condensate drain.
▪ Replacement of the wearing parts (if required).
▪ Documentation of the maintenance work in the operating manual.
▪ Before restarting the A2 F after maintenance work, the require-
ments for start-up according to
Chap. 5.2
must be checked and
fulfilled.
9.2
Service and maintenance tasks
DANGER: RISK OF ELECTROCUTION
Touching live parts can result in an electric shock and lead
to potentially fatal injuries and burns.
▪ Before beginning work on the A2 F, disconnect it from
the power supply (fuse, switch off the main switch) and
secure against unintentional restart.
DANGER: RISK OF BURNING
Danger of burning on hot surfaces.
▪ Let the burner cool down sufficiently before dismantling.
▪ Wear protective gloves.
Cleaning the boiler cladding
▪ Only clean the boiler cladding with soft cloths and mild cleaning
solution.
▪ Do not use cleaners with aggressive solvents.
9.2.1
Filling, topping up the heating system
DANGER: RISK OF ELECTROCUTION
During the filling process, water can escape from any leak-
ing points and can cause an electric shock if it comes into
contact with live parts.
▪ Before the filling process, power down the A2 F.
▪ After the first filling and before switching on the A2 F at
the mains switch, check that all electric parts and con-
nection points are dry.
WARNING
Polluted domestic water is hazardous to health.
▪ When filling the heating system, make sure that heating
water cannot flow back into the domestic water pipe.
INFORMATION
Comply with the instructions for the water connection (see
Chap. 4.6
) and water quality (see
Chap. 1.2.5
).
