# begin <application-type> [instanceID]

# end <application-type>
Where [instanceID] is an optional string to identify a particular instance, and
<application type> corresponds to specific application(s) built over the infrastructure.
Within each application the parameters needed to create the objects for that specific
instance is inserted.
Configuring Generic Dial-Out
Step 1 - To enable the generic dial-out application, configure the desired ports
with the
protocol
parameter in /
etc/portslave/pslave.conf
.
For example:
s<N>.protocol
generic_dial

is the port number.
Step 2 - To enable dial-out for the ports chosen in
pslave.conf
, configure the
file
/etc/generic-dial.conf
as described in the following table.

begin <dial-out> [
<instance-id>
]
Begins the dial-out application.
Optionally specify a name for the
particular instance.
inPort.name <name>
A label for the incoming port to be used
in log messages.
inPort.device </dev/ttyXX>
The modem device used for this
interface.
inPort.speed <9600>
Connection speed.
inPort.datasize <8>
The number of data bits.
inPort.parity [ none | even | odd ]
None, even, or odd.
inPort.stopbits <1>
The number of stop bits.
