Information Only voice boxes
This feature allows any voice boxes in the system to be programmed as information only voice
boxes, boxes that do not give the caller the option to leave a message. The feature is designed
to be primarily activated on Phantom Mailboxes as these are not associated with an station.
However for flexibility, any spare group or station mailbox may be used if the phantom boxes are
fully allocated for other purposes.
If a voice box is set as "Information Only" this means that when a caller is connected to this box
they will receive the greeting but will not be able to record a message. The box has all of the
other attributes of a standard voice box, i.e. the user can customize the outgoing greeting, set
diverts to the voice box, dial through etc. Once the recorded greeting is played twice to the caller
with the standard 3-second timeout between playing the prompts, the call will be dropped and
Busy tone returned to the caller.
For programming please refer to the previous page ‘To allocate a Voicemail box to a Station.’
