Table C-1 describes the data formats acceptable for most commands.
“H” is one or more hexadecimal digit [0-F] and “D” is one or more decimal digit.
Text Conventions
Bold text indicates a command in a paragraph.
Courier text
indicates text that appears in a command line (such as the command
line interface) or is returned by the computer.
Courier bold text
indicates commands and text you enter in a command line.
Italic text indicates the first occurrence of a new term, book title, and emphasized
text. In this command summary, items presented in italics represent user-specified
information.
Items within angle brackets (“<>”) are required information.
Items within square brackets (“[]”) are optional information.
Items separated by a vertical bar (“|”) are options. You can choose any of them.
