Service and Maintenance

The level should be between the
MIN
and
MAX
marks.
The oil level must be above the
lower mark. Add oil as required.
Avoid over-filling the engine since
this may cause engine damage.
To determine the engine oil fill
location, see "Oil Fill Cap" in the
engine compartment diagram,
earlier in this section.
NOTICE
Don't add too much oil. If your
engine has so much oil that the
oil level gets above the upper
mark that shows the proper
operating range, your engine
could be damaged.
Choosing the Right Oil Quality
Be sure the oil you use has the API
SM (ILSAC GF-IV) rating or better.

Choosing the Right Oil Viscosity
SAE 10W-30 is the recommended
engine oil for your vehicle. SAE
5W-30 may be used at colder
temperatures. SAE 10W-30 or SAE
15W-40 are recommended in hot
temperatures.
When choosing an oil, consider
the range of temperature your
vehicle will be operated in before
the next oil change. Then, select
the recommended oil viscosity
from the chart.
Do not switch to a different viscos-
ity in the event of brief tempera-
ture change.
NOTICE
Using engine oils of a viscosity
other than those recommended
could result in engine damage.
