3. GENERAL SAFETY INFORMATION AND
INSTRUCTION
3.1 Intended
use
The humidifi er is designed and built exclusively to humidify rooms through distribution systems (ducts). Any other use may be
a source of danger that is not contemplated in this manual and is therefore considered improper and therefore is prohibited by
the manufacturer, which declines all liability in such cases.
3.2
G
eneral safety instructions
WARNING Failure to carefully heed the warnings shown in this manual could lead to fi re or explosion and conse-
quent damage to property, injury or death.
WARNING Do not store or use petrol or other fl ammable vapours and liquids in the vicinity of the humidifi er.
DANGER If you smell gas:
1. do not attempt to switch on any appliance;
2. do not touch any electrical switches; do not use telephones in the building;
3. call the gas supplier immediately from a phone in a safe place outside of the building where the humidifi er is installed. Fol-
low the instructions given by the gas supplier;
4. if you are unable to contact the gas supplier, adopt the safety procedures in place in the country where the humidifi er is
installed.
The customer (manufacturer, designer or installer) accepts all liability and risk relating to the confi guration of the humidifi er in
order to reach the expected results in relation to the specifi c fi nal installation and/or equipment. The manufacturer may, based
on specifi c agreements, act as a consultant for the installation/commissioning/use of the humidifi er, however in no case does it
accept liability for the correct operation of the humidifi er and/or the fi nal installation if the warnings or suggestions provided in
this manual or in other product technical documents are not heeded.
In particular, as well as observing the above warnings and suggestions, the following warnings must be observed with
CAUTION
for correct use of the humidifi er:
• The humidifi er contains live electrical components. Disconnect the mains power supply before accessing inside parts or
during maintenance and installation.
• The humidifi er automatically and constantly fi lls/drains certain quantities of water. Malfunctions in the connections or in the
humidifi er may cause leaks.
• The humidifi er contains high temperature components and delivers steam at 100°C/212°F.
• The installation of the humidifi er must include an earth connection, using the yellow-green terminal provided.
• Environmental and power supply conditions must conform to the values specifi ed on the humidifi er’s labels.
• All installation, use and maintenance operations must be performed by specialist and qualifi ed personnel who are aware of
the necessary precautions and are capable of performing the operations correctly and in accordance with the safety stand-
ards and legislation in force in the country where the humidifi er is installed.
• Adjustment of all units (covered by UL-998) from operation on natural gas (factory setting) to LPG must only be carried out by
personnel authorised button the manufacturer.
• Only water with the characteristics indicated in this manual must be used to produce steam (see par. 7.1.2).
• All operations on the product must be carried out according to the instructions provided in this manual and on the labels
applied to the humidifi er. All uses or modifi cations not authorised by the manufacturer are considered improper and therefore
prohibited by the manufacturer, which declines all liability is such cases.
• Do not attempt to open the humidifi er in any way other than described in the manual.
• For anything not specifi ed in this manual, comply with the regulations in force in the country where the humidifi er is installed.
• Do not install and use the humidifi er near objects that may be damaged when in contact with water (or condensate). The
manufacturer declines all liability for direct or indirect damage following water leaks from the humidifi er.
• Do not use corrosive chemicals, solvents or aggressive detergents to clean the inside and outside parts of the humidifi er,
unless specifi cally indicated in the user manual.
• Do not drop, hit or shake the humidifi er, as the inside parts and the linings may be irreparably damaged,

The manufacturer adopts a policy of continual development and consequently reserves the right to
make changes and improvements to any product described in this document. The technical specifi cations shown in the manual
may be changed without prior warning.
