Chapter 15
15-11
Field Remedy
Open the ITB cover, and press a location on each side of the cover where a sticker is affixed at the same time to close the cover firmly.
F-15-13
Note: When closing the ITB unit, pay attention to the following.
- In order to prevent the ITB cover from coming into contact with the ITB, be sure not to press locations to which stickers are not affixed.
- When closing the unit, be sure to unlock the tip-resistant arm [1] first. If the unit is closed with the arm locked, the arm may be damaged.
- When the locations to which stickers are affixed are not pressed at the same time, the ITB unit may not be closed firmly. In case the locations have been
pressed in the above-mentioned way, check to make sure that the push button [3] for opening/closing the unit returns to its original position.

[ Manual-related ]
Description
If the surface of the ITB belt is touched by a figure during ITB-related maintenance work, the quality of output image corresponding to the soiled part of the
belt may be degraded. When a symptom like this occurs, execute cleaning in user mode.
Field Remedy
User mode > Adjustment/Cleaning > Cleaning inside Main Unit > Start.
Note: Manual cleaning may cause damage to the ITB belt or allow a worker to touch the belt by his/her fingers, which is a cause of pickup failure or
degradation of print quality. Be sure to minimize the execution of manual cleaning as much as possible.
15.3.1.5.2 Skew image occurs when copying from platen glass: Platen glass is mounted improperly

Description
Since an output image was positioned on an angle in relation to paper, the platen glass was detached and then mounted again for solution. In this inspection
case, no symptom appeared on PC print images, and test print images.
Field Remedy
Check to see the mounting condition of the platen glass; if there is a space in the rear side, detach the glass and mount it again while butting it in the rear side
of the platen glass frame.
15.3.1.5.3 Image displacement sometimes occurs with black only: Main controller PCB (sub PDRM-EF-A) is faulty

Description
Since image displacement occasionally occurred only with black, a main controller PCB (sub PDRM-EF-A) was replaced with a new one for solution.
Cause
Since one of the main controller PCBs (sub PDRM-EF-A PCBs) was faulty, the print image processing was not performed correctly.
Field Remedy
1. Re-fit all the main controller PCBs (sub PDRM-EF-A PCBs).
2. If the symptom still occurs, interchange the upper and lower main controller PCBs (sub PDRM-EF-A PCBs).
3. If the color in question changed between magenta and cyan, suspect a faulty main controller PCB (sub PDRM-EF-A PCB) and replace the PCB now being
in the downside by a new one.
