Chapter 15
15-21
1. On the main controller PCB, there are two PDRM-EF-A PCBs: the upper (connected at J1051) is for processing magenta and cyan images, and the lower
(connected at J1008) is for yellow and black images. Interchange these PCBs and check to see if the trouble color changes (for example, from magenta or
cyan to yellow or black).
2. If the trouble color changes, the PCB for the original trouble color is faulty. But before replacing this PCB, clean its terminal with lint-free paper moistened
with alcohol. Depending on the way of connecting the PCB, poor contact may not be solved. When connecting it, refer to the attached "E747/748: How to
Modify Connection of the Sub PCBs to the Controller Box."
3. If the symptom still occurs, replace the PCB for the trouble color with a new one.

Description
The sensitivity of the drum can vary depending on how the drum cartridge is being used. Printing images with an appreciable difference in density can cause a
negative ghost image (reverse of the previous image).
Field Remedy
Set '-2' for the primary transfer current offset value of the color in question in service mode.
If the result is not satisfactory, decrease the setting by -2, and check the results for each decrease. (maximum of -10)
If decreased excessively, it can cause a side effect (positive ghost image).
Be sure to stop as soon as good results have been obtained.
1) Move to service mode using the control keys on the control panel.
2) From the service mode menu, move to the following using the control keys:
service mode>ADJUST_GR>1TR-TGC
3) When '1TR-TGC' has appeared on the control panel display, press the Execute key.
4) When the setting has appeared, set '-2' using the control keys.
5) Press the Execute key, and turn off and then back on the machine.
