Cause
A foreign substance got in the gap between the delivery roller [B] and the bushing [C] at the delivery area [A] of the fixing assembly, causing a frictional
noise (squeaking noise).

Field Remedy
When the aforementioned symptom occurs, go through the following steps.
1. Remove the delivery roller and bushing, clean the sliding area between them with lint-free paper moistened with alcohol.
2. Apply sesame-sized conductive grease (BARRIERTA IMI) to the bushing.
Reference: When replacing the delivery roller and bushing, apply the conductive grease before mounting the new type of them.
Note: If the grease is applied to the delivery roller and bushing without cleaning, the foreign substance and the grease stick together, possibly preventing
improvement of the symptom.
3. When the delivery roller has been mounted, turn the delivery roller manually several times to spread the grease on the roller.

Description
Since abnormal noise (noise due to gear teeth meshing failure) occurred during the stream reading, the feeder cover was replaced with a new one for solution.
Cause
Since the feeder cover shaft [A] was at an angle, the separation roller drive gear failed to mesh with the gear on the ADF, causing the abnormal noise.
