PROGRAMMING EXAMPLE
DISCUSSION
This section describes the steps required to program a Wire List Table using the Editor. The
procedure begins by evaluating the wire harness documentation and determining how the test
fixture will be interfaced to the Model 512. Since the User Notation Table relates harness
connector/pin labels to test points, the fixture wiring should be determined before programming
begins.
There are many ways companies document wire harnesses including schematics, wire lists, bill
of materials, etc. For the purpose of our example, the documentation consists of two items:
•
Wire Harness Schematic
•
Harness Wire List.
Wire Harness Schematic
The wire harness schematic example shown below consists of three connectors and two loose-
leads. The connector designated P1 represents a 10-pin circular connector. The two connectors
designated P2 and P3 represent 5-pin rectangular connectors. The two loose-lead wires are
designated E1 and E2.
