9. When the last sequence step has been tested, the display will show "
OK
." A test of the
assembly may now be performed to find any shorts or opens that may have developed
during assembly.
RANDOM BUILD
This mode provides assembly continuities (From/To points) for wire ends selected (touched) at
random (no specific sequence is required). A complete procedure is provided below. Once
familiarized, the user may refer to Figure 11. To select and use RANDOM BUILD in making
circuit connections, proceed as follows:
1. Load program into memory (refer to Loading a Program).
2. Attach wrist strap to arm, and plug wrist strap lead into PROBE jack on the rear panel.
3. Plug footswitch lead into FOOTSWITCH jack on the rear panel.
4. Connect the harness assembly fixture.
5. Press RANDOM BUILD key; the display will show:
Select Next Wire
6. Touch the end of a random wire to assemble, and the display will show the From/To
points.
7. When the correct termination is made, the tone will sound and the display will show:
Select Next Wire
8. Touch each succeeding wire, in any order desired, and make terminations as in Steps 5
and 6 above.
9. An "F" will appear at the left of the display when the FROM point is touched, or a "T"
will appear when the TO point is touched. Also, as soon as either the FROM or TO point
is touched, an intermittent tone will sound. The tone and the "F" or "T" will be present
only while the point is being touched.
10. The displayed From/To point may be canceled by pressing either the RANDOM BUILD
key or the footswitch.
11. After all wires are assembled, press TEST to locate any shorts that may have been
created, and opens for unassembled circuits.
