OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS - FRONT PANEL
FRONT PANEL MODES
The following detailed procedures are provided for acquainting the new user with the Model
512. Once the details are understood, abbreviated routines, such as those in Figures 3 through
11, will be sufficient. All modes and functions are selected and controlled by keys on the front
panel. Five modes are controlled by individual keys across the top of the panel. Three keys
across the bottom are provided to control nineteen modes and functions from a menu.

SEQ BUILD (SEQUENTIAL BUILD)
This is a recorded procedure that provides a specific assembly sequence for a specific assembly,
using a program generated using the Keyboard/CRT Terminal. The SEQ BUILD mode requires
use of the wrist strap to locate and identify displayed points, and the footswitch to bypass
sequence steps. A complete procedure is provided below. Once familiarized, the user may refer
to Figure 10. To select and use SEQ BUILD in building an assembly, proceed as follows:
1. Load program into memory (refer to Loading a Program).
2. Attach wrist strap to arm, and plug wrist strap lead into PROBE jack on the rear panel.
3. Plug footswitch lead into FOOTSWITCH jack on the rear panel.
4. Press SEQ BUILD; the Model 512 will proceed to check each programmed continuity
according to the stored sequence.
5. If a proper termination is not found in one of the sequence steps, the sequencing will stop
and the FROM and TO points will be displayed.
6. An "F" will appear at the left of the display when the FROM point is touched, or a "T"
will appear when the TO point is touched, and an intermittent tone will sound. The tone
and the "F" or "T" will be present only while the points are touched.
7. The Model 512 will then test for the remaining stored sequence steps until the next open
circuit in the sequence is found.
8. Steps may be bypassed by pressing the footswitch once for each step to be bypassed, or
by pressing SEQ BUILD.
