SAMPLE WIRE HARNESS
Provided below is a simple wire harness with five wires and three connectors. This application
consists of the wiring harness under test and its connectors; a harness board with harness mating
connectors and harness board connector; tester interconnect cable. As a naming convention,
PA1, PB1, and PB2 denote the harness connectors. Each of its pins is denoted by the connector
name, and the connctor pin number separated by a dash. For example, pin 1 in connector PA1
would be labeled PA1-1. The harness mating connectors are backwired to the harness board
connector, which interfaces to J1 of the Tester through an interface cable. Typically, the mating
connectors are wired to sequential pin numbers (1 – 64) on each harness board interface
connector.
