Only trained personnel can carry out the installation. Person-
nel must use suitable tools.

▶

Secure the installation against unintentional actuation.

▶

Ensure a controlled restart after installation.

CAUTION!

Risk of injury that is due to leakage in an MFM.

▶

At a low mass flow rate and a high pressure, make sure that
the installation is tight. The tightness prevents incorrect meas-
urements or the leakage of the operating fluid.

▶

To make sure that the installation is tight, observe the follow-
ing instruction: Use pipes with a diameter that is adapted to
the fluid connection of the product, and with a smooth sur-
face.

CAUTION!

Risk of injury that is due to leakage in an MFC with pump.

▶

Use pipes with a diameter that is adapted to the fluid connec-
tion of the product, and with a smooth surface.

▶

To avoid possible problems that are due to leakage, make
sure that no fluid flows when the pump is switched off. Take
into account the static pressure.

CAUTION!

Risk of injury that is due to leakage in an MFC with propor-
tional valve.

▶

Use pipes with a diameter that is adapted to the fluid connec-
tion of the product, and with a smooth surface.

ATTENTION!

Malfunction that is due to contamination.

▶

If a contaminated operating fluid is used, then install a filter
upstream of the product. The filter ensures problem-free func-
tioning of the product. Refer to chapter:

ATTENTION!

Malfunction that is due to the damage of the MFC pump.

▶

Mount a mesh filter upstream of the product. The mesh size
must be of max. 10 μm. You can use the Type KF01 filter from
Bürkert.

ATTENTION!

Cavitation of gas in the liquid and degassing must be avoided.

▶

To avoid cavitation and degassing, make sure that the operat-
ing fluid is an homogeneous liquid and that the pressure in the
pipe is high enough.

▶

When installing the product in the pipe, observe the flow dir-
ection that is given on the calibration plate of the product.

▶

If a product-external pump is used, then install the pump up-
stream of the product.
