!
Work on electrical equipment is only to be per-
formed by persons with sufficient knowledge and
experience of electrical systems!

esting and charging the
internal battery
i
Always charge the BAT 250 regularly.
i
Do not store the BAT 250 with a partially discharged
battery.
.4
Internal battery test
Each time it is switched on, the BAT 250 checks the
charge status of its battery. The
LEDs , 4
or

indicate
the charge status of the
BA 2 battery
.

possible, internal battery requires charging
.
Exhaustive discharge protection
To avoid a damaging exhaustive discharge of the inter-
nal battery, the ON period for the BAT 250 is restricted
to 4 h in all operating modes. The voltage of the inter-
nal battery is continuously monitored according to the
operating mode. The BAT 250 shuts down if a critical
limit is violated.

Charging the internal battery in the
BA 2
.6.1
Charging with the internal charger
The charger for the internal battery is built into the
BAT 250.
1.
Plug the mains plug on the power cable (Fig. 1,
pos. 5) for the BAT 250 into a mains socket.
2.
The internal battery in the BAT 250 charges.

lights up.
3.
Charging is complete and charge conservation for
the internal BAT 250 battery is running.
The yellow
LED 1
goes out and the green
LED 2
lights up.
i
The BAT 250 can remain plugged in for an unlim-
ited period. In this way the battery is continuously
charged. The maximum charging time for a dis-
charged battery is approximately 14 hours. If the
mains voltage is low, the charging time for the inter-
nal battery will be extended.
.6.2
Charging with the 12 Volt vehicle electrical
supply charging cable
!
The 12 Volt charging socket is only intended for
charging the internal battery in the BAT 250.
i
The charging current circuit is protected by means of
an automatic 9 A fuse.
1.
Connect the 12 Volt charging socket (Fig. 1, Pos. 3)
to the 12 Volt vehicle electrical system by means of
the 12 Volt vehicle electrical supply charging cable
(e.g. cigarette lighter in the vehicle).
!
Always plug the vehicle electrical system charging ca-
ble into the 12 Volt charging socket on the BAT 250
first.
2.
The internal battery in the BAT 250 charges when the
vehicle engine is running.
