Chapter 6.   Alerts and Alarms 

Audible tones for alerts and alarms can be silenced by pressing the 

Clear/Silence

 key. For alerts, the audible 

tones will resume after the time period defined by the Alert Silencing Time setting (see “Configurable 
Options,” 4-1). For alarms, the tones will resume after two minutes.

An alarm, unlike an alert, requires immediate attention because it stops the infusion. Alerts and alarms are 
indicated by:

Flashing red 

Alert

 LED indicator

Q

Audible tone consisting of a single or repeating tone of one long beep followed by three short beeps 

Q

Screen message that describes the cause of the alert or alarm.

Note: 

If the pump is battery operated, the alert or alarm message will not be displayed until you press a key.

messages are organized numerically and then alphabetically.
