Fixing the First Number in the Incrementing Sequence
There are two ways to enter the firs t num ber in the inc rem enting s equenc e. Us e batc h data or
Option 1 to define the firs t num ber as a fixed c harac ter. The firs t num ber in the s equenc e m us t
c ontain the s am e am ount of digits as the highes t num ber to be c ounted. For exam ple, to c ount
the num bers
1 to 999 , the firs t num ber in the s equenc e m us t be entered as 001 .
U s ing Op t ion 61 ( Re - image F ie ld )
This option redraws (reim ages ) a c ons tant field when a c ons tant field is next to a variable field. It
c an be us ed on text, c ons tant text, bar c ode, line, or box fields .
Thes e printers do not redraw an area if the field data does not c hange. W hen a field c hanges ,
that area is c leared and the new field data is im aged. However, the new field data m ay require a
larger area than the previous field did. In s om e c as es , neighboring fields that do not c hange
(c ons tant fields ) m ay be c overed with white s pac e from the c hanging field’s (variable fields ) area.
Us e this option to reim age the c ons tant field, or it m ay appear broken.
Note : The m os t c om m on us e for this option is with inc rem enting fields on a label, bec aus e they
m ay c over a c ons tant field.
