hours . Follow thes e s teps before c alling:

Make s ure the PC and printer are properly c onnec ted.
2 .
Rec ord any error m es s ages that oc c urred.
3 .
Rec reate the problem , if pos s ible.
4 .
Chec k the c om m unic ation port s ettings and c hange if nec es s ary.
5 .
Lis t any rec ent c hanges to the s ys tem . Rec ord what you were doing when the problem
oc c urred.
6 .
Res et the printer, s ee "Res etting the Printer."
7 .
Reboot the c om puter. Refer to the c om puter doc um entation for s pec ific ins truc tions .
8 .
Print a tes t label, s ee “Printing a Tes t Label” for m ore inform ation.
Have the following inform ation ready before c alling: c om puter brand nam e and m odel, printer
m odel, other peripheral devic es on your s ys tem , s upport agreem ent, c ontrac t num ber, or invoic e
inform ation, c us tom er num ber, and printer s erial num ber.
Data Errors
Call Tec hnic al Support if any error m es s age is rec eived that is not lis ted below.
Errors 001 to 499 are data errors . Thes e errors are returned in res pons e to a J,3 reques t. See
Chapter 7, “Status Polling,” for m ore inform ation. A data error indic ates that inc orrec t data was
rec eived from the hos t, c aus ing the printer to ignore the entire print job. After c hec king the
pac ket and c orrec ting the problem , trans m it the print job again.
The following is a lis t of data errors . Thes e errors oc c ur bec aus e data in the form at, batc h,
c hec k digit, font, or graphic pac ket is invalid.
