Apply this option to bar c ode fields to c reate c us tom dens ities . This option overrides the dens ity
value in the bar c ode field.
To use this option, set the density param eter in the bar code field
to the default value. Only us e this option onc e for eac h bar c ode field. Bar c odes produc ed
us ing Option 50 m ay not be s c annable. Synthetic s upplies are rec om m ended to produc e
s c annable bar c odes .
The additional c harac ter gap, narrow s pac e, and wide s pac e param eters ( R5, R6, R7 ) only need
to be s pec ified with

If thes e param eters are s pec ified for any other bar c odes , they will be ignored by the printer. Do
not us e Option 50 with fixed dens ity bar c odes , s uc h as POSTNET or Intelligent Mail.
Option 50 c an als o be us ed with Option 52 to further c us tom iz e the dim ens ions of a PDF417 bar
c ode. Option 52 allows c us tom iz ation of the num ber of c olum ns or num ber of rows for the bar
c ode.

R3. narrow Dot width of the narrow elem ent. Range: 1 to 99 . 1 is the
default.

R5. gap Additional dot s pac e between c harac ters . Enter a value of 1 to
99 . (Code 39, Codabar, I 2of5, MSI only.) 1 is the default.
R6. nar_s pac e Additional dot width of the narrow bar c ode/bar width s pac e.
(Code 39, Codabar, I 2of5, PDF417, MSI only). Range:
1 to 99 .

R7. wide_s pac e Additional dot width of the wide bar c ode s pac e/height of eac h
