U s i n g O n l i n e C o n f i g ur ati on P a c k e t s
Us e online c onfiguration pac kets to c hange the printer’s s ettings . Send an individual
c onfiguration pac ket or a s ingle pac ket c ontaining all the c onfiguration pac kets . Supply all
param eters for eac h pac ket. Leave the param eters blank that do not need to c hange. For
exam ple,

prints a s las hed z ero and us es the las t s ent online Sys tem Setup param eters .
Make a c opy of the online c onfiguration works heet in Appendix D, “ Form at Des ign Tools ,” and
s ave the original. All online c onfiguration pac kets are lis ted on the works heet.
W hen turning off the printer, all the inform ation in the online c onfiguration pac kets is s aved and
us ed when the printer is turned bac k on. After c hanging the printer’s c onfiguration, res end the
form at, batc h, or graphic to the printer before the c hanges take effec t.
Configuration Packet Header
Always inc lude an I , im m ediately after the left brac ket { and before the pac ket identifier (A, B, C,
etc .). The I param eter identifies the data s tream as a c onfiguration pac ket.
Note : Inc lude the
I
param eter with eac h pac ket if s ending them individually. Inc lude it only at
the beginning of a data s tream if s ending m ultiple pac kets .
