Using the ACK/NAK Protocol
Enable ACK/NAK with the ^UPE c om m and.
The printer s ends the log m es s age (s aved in RAM) to the hos t and waits for an ACK c harac ter
(hex 06) before the m es s age is rem oved. Upon rec eipt of the ACK, the printer returns the next
pending log m es s age, with the above s equenc e repeating until no m ore m es s ages exis t.
ACK/NAK Error Handling
If five c ons ec utive m es s ages have been kept in RAM without rec eiving an ACK res pons e, the
printer s tops with the error m es s age “
Waiting fo r Ho s t ”. The operator c annot c lear this error and
no printer buttons are ac tive.
