0 - CVV2 has not been provided by the cardholder
2 - CVV2 on the card is illegible
9 - Cardholder states the card has no CVV2 imprint

The Point of Sale system will print a signature
record. Have the customer sign this and compare it
to the signature on the reverse of the customer’s card.

VERIFIED?
If the signatures match, select YES on your Point of
Sale system. If they don’t match, select NO to decline
the transaction.
TRANSACTION
APPROVED
Please check for approval of the transaction before
completing the sale. If rejected, the terminal will
display an error message outlining the reason (refer
to section 17). Notify the customer and advise them to
contact their Card Issuer.
NOTE: If you select CUST, you are required to also take an imprint of the credit card. Ask the cardholder
for photo ID and record the details on the back of the imprinter Voucher. Keep the Voucher with your
merchant copy of the transaction in case of a chargeback claim. Please note that this may not protect
you from chargebacks if the transaction is disputed by the cardholder or the cardholder’s issuing bank.
You may still be held liable which results in a debit to your merchant account for the amount of the
relevant “disputed” transaction.
