Dual-circuit pneumatic braking system
12.5.7.1 Draining the compressed air tank of the dual-circuit magnetic braking system
1. Run the tractor engine (approx. 3 mins.),
until the compressed air reservoir (Fig.
210/1) has filled.
2. Switch off the tractor engine, apply the
tractor parking brake and remove the igni-
tion key.
3. Pull the drain valve (Fig. 210/2) in a side-
ways direction by the ring until no more wa-
ter escapes from the compressed air res-
ervoir.
4. If the escaping water is dirty, let off air,
unscrew the drainage valve from the com-
pressed air reservoir and clean the com-
pressed air reservoir.
5. Fit the drainage valve and check the com-
pressed air reservoir for seal tightness.

12.5.7.2 External testing of the compressed air tank of the dual-circuit pneumatic braking sys-
tem
External testing of the compressed air reservoir
(Fig. 211/1).
If the compressed air reservoir moves in the
tensioning bands (Fig. 211/2)
→
tension or replace the compressed air res-
ervoir
If the compressed air reservoir has any external
corrosion damage or is damaged
→
replace the compressed air reservoir.
If the type plate (Fig. 211/3) is rusty, loose or the
type plate is missing from the compressed air
reservoir
→
replace the compressed air reservoir.

The compressed air reservoir may be replaced in a specialist work-
shop only.
