Adapter Imbalance Compensation
This section indicates how to compensate for im-
balances caused by weights added to the wheel
shaft, before fitting the wheel.
The machine can perform an automatic calibration
operation to allow automatic electronic compensation
for any imbalances caused by optional adapters in-
stalled by the user, for example flanges and equip-
ment for locking the wheel in general. This technology
guarantees balancing precision equal to that done with
the wheel directly mounted on the machine shaft.
Compensation can be deselected at any time. In any
case, the machine returns to the manufacturer’s cali-
bration condition each time you start it up.
- Operation
Fit the required adapter on the wheel shaft.
•
Simultaneously press keys F – FINE, the display
shows “SEL ECt”. Hold down the keys until “BAL
Sht” appears and an acoustic signal is activated.
•
Press F. “BAL 0” appears on the display.
•
Press one of the three + keys to display “BAL 1”.
•
Lower the guard and start the operation. Wait until
it stops to ensure that the operation is completed.
The machine now allows wheels to be balanced using
normal procedures.
To cancel the compensation obtained:
•
Return to the “BAL 1” display using the above-men-
tioned procedure.
•
Press any of the three – keys to display “BAL 0”
again.
•
Press the STOP key twice.
Do not enter any tyre data.
•
Press “F” button.
Display on the right will show 1.
•
Lower the hood to cycle the balancer shaft with
nothing on it. After the measuring run the display
will show 2.
•
Mount the calibration weight into the treaded hole
on the left side of the balancers flange (Figure
6.3.1.1).
After a delay of two seconds “DNE” appears (Figure
6.3.1.2) if calibration was successful, or an error mes-
sage appears if it failed. See Chapter 7.1 for error
messages.
