Weight application.
The following weight types and application methods
are available:
-
clip-on weights.
Applied with a weight hammer.
-
stick-on weights.
Always apply by hand.
Note:
Weights must always be applied exactly
perpendicular to the shaft (12 o’clock po-
sition).
After spinning the wheel (refer to Figure 5.3.4-1):
•
Look at the rotation indicators for the left plane of
the wheel.
If one or more indicators are lit:
•
Turn the wheel until all of the illuminated indicators
are lit (Figure 5.3.4.-2).
•
Press the foot brake to lock the balancers shaft.
The weight to be applied in that plane is shown on the
display.
Attaching a clip-on weight.
Refer to Figure 5.3.4-3.
•
Clip-on weights must always be applied in the 12
o’clock position.
•
The lip should rest on the edge of the rim. Use the
weight pliers to position it.
In STATIC mode only the left hand display is used.
Attaching a stick-on weight.
ALU or STATIC modes only:
Refer to Figure 5.3.4-4.
•
Apply the weight on the rim in the 12 o’clock posi-
tion with the correct offset from the “0” point.
Note:
With STATIC wheel types, always apply
the weight at the rim center line. If not
possible, split the weights evenly and
apply on another surface of the rim (sym-
metrical to the rim center line).
