Removal of the wheel.
•
Carefully slacken the quick release wing nut or the
mounting studs.
•
Do not drag the wheel on the balancers threaded
shaft, but lift the wheel when removing it.
•
Check the thread for damage and clean if neces-
sary.
5.2
Preparation.
•
The operator should be familiar with the warnings
and cautions
•
The operator should be qualified to work with the
balancer.
•
Always ensure that the wheel guard is raised when
the balancer is off.
5.2.1
Power up.
•
Do not keep any key pressed down during power
up.
Refer to Figure 5.2.1-1.
•
Plug the power lead into the power socket.
Note:
If the unit beeps and does not proceed or
if an error code is shown, refer to Chap-
ter 7.
The unit will beep and perform a self-test.
All indicators and displays will be on for several
seconds, so the operator may check if all displays
and indicators are functioning.
The display and the weight position indicators relating
to the current balancing mode will stay on.
Refer to Figure 5.2.1-2 for an example.
The unit is now ready to begin the balancing proce-
dure.
5.2.2
Emergency stop.
To perform an emergency stop, refer to Figure 5.2.2-
1:
•
Select the STOP key to apply the electronic brake.
•
Apply the foot brake to stop the wheel.
When an emergency stop is activated due to an unex-
pected action, rethink the steps taken:
Did the operator make an error or mistake?
Correct the input and continue working. No special
procedure is to be followed.
Did the balancer do something unexpected?
•
Read the relevant chapters again.
Prepare the balancer for a restart:
- switch off the balancer
