Safety symbols on the CMM
The following symbols are attached to the CMM and/or the control unit.
Danger symbol for electric voltage:
This symbol indicates a risk to life and limb.
The symbol is located below the cover. The sym-
bol is not visible from the outside.
Danger symbol:
This symbol indicates a danger to people and
the CMM as well as to its components.
NOTE
Any work on the controller must be carried out only by an electrical en-
gineer.
Safety devices
The coordinate measuring machine (CMM) is equipped with the follow-
ing safety devices.
– EMERGENCY STOP button on the control console
– Electronic shearing force limitation using functional safety and drive
monitoring
– Fall brake of the ram
EMERGENCY STOP button
There is an EMERGENCY STOP button located on the control console.
The drives can be stopped immediately in cases of emergency. To do so,
press the button. The button engages. The drives are switched off.
The button must be unlocked to switch the drives on again.
– Unlock the button by turning it.
Then the button automatically releases and unlocks.
NOTE
The EMERGENCY STOP button should only be pressed in cases of emer-
gency. A separate key is used for switching off the drives.
