Special measures
After a collision
When the probe or stylus moves against an obstacle and the drives are
switched off, proceed as follows:
1 Eliminate the cause of the collision.
2 Reactivate the drives.
If the drives cannot be switched on, the CMM must be reinitialized.
For more information about the initialization procedure, please refer
to the Operating instructions for the measuring software.
3 Check whether the stylus needs to be requalified.
NOTE
If the ram or the probe collides with an obstacle, the guideway and
other components of the CMM may become damaged. In this case, an
exact measuring operation cannot be guaranteed.
If measurements are not possible after a collision, call a ZEISS service en-
gineer or our support.
NOTE
After a collision, the stylus system has to be requalified and the work-
piece position (w position) has to be determined again.
Collision during automatic stylus system change
A collision occurring during change may be caused by missing intermedi-
ate positions.
– Reallocate the holder to the stylus system and choose the intermedi-
ate positions so that changes can be carried out without collision.
Stop Light window
After a collision, the stop light switches to red in the Stop Light window.
You have to switch back the stop light to green before continuing mea-
surement. See operating instructions for the measuring software.
Probe outside the measuring volume
If the probe moves out of the measuring volume, the drives will switch
off.
– Reactivate the drives.
Then you can resume the travel movement.
