result, it may be necessary to delete these undesirable facets. It can be done in two
different ways.
The small facets can be removed with the Remove Isolated Patches slider in the Facets
Parameters expanding panel. In the example below, a specular reflection created
artifacts in the STL. By increasing the value of the slider, the small patches are removed
automatically. The algorithm identifies the largest object and removes smaller patches
whose size is determined by the value of the slider.
The bigger patches (or the smaller patches that are somehow connected to the main
object) can be removed via the Recycle function. In the example below, the hand of
the person who was scanning was mistakenly scanned. The Freeform Selection tool was
used to select the unwanted triangles. Then, the Recycle button from the toolbar was
clicked on to send the unwanted patch to the recycle bin. It is also possible to
permanently delete triangles using the Delete function.
