Lower unit

Install the original shim(s)

and thrust

bearing

with the propeller shaft 2 into

the propeller shaft housing.

NOTE:

Be sure to select the propeller shaft shim(s)
if replacing the propeller shaft, propeller
shaft housing, thrust bearing or taper roller
bearing.

To select the shim(s), see “Shimming
(counter rotation model).”

Install a new taper roller bearing

into

the propeller shaft housing using a press.

Install the propeller shaft housing assem-
bly in the reverse direction into the lower
case.

NOTE:

Use M8 bolt

for mount the propeller hous-

ing.

Install the claw washer

and ring nut

and then tighten the ring nut to the spec-
ified torque.
