Icemaker Diagnostic ( optical indication )
Preparation for the Service Diagnostic:
Step 1:
Fix the emitter flap with a tape in closed position and close the door.
Step 2:
Switch of the icemaker on the user board.
Step 3:
Open the freezer door.
(The technician will then have 60 seconds to open the freezer door.)
Step 4:
Hold the light switch to simulate a closed door.
Step 5:
Switch on the icemaker on the user board.
Step 6:
Listen to the receiver LED output code.
(After opening the freezer door, the technician has 2 seconds to see the code.)
LED output failure indication:
2 flashes, 1 second off, 2 flashes again:
Indicates an optical problem
Solution: Change the IR Receiver
3 flashes, 1 second off, 3 flashes again:
Indicates an icemaker fault
Solution: Change the icemaker
4 flashes, 1 second off, 4 flashes again:
Indicates an defect relay
Solution: Change the IR Receiver
If the LED is solid on for min. 5 seconds, everything is correct working.
Note: If the system detects more then one error code, you will see the first error code.
Then you have to fix the first fault and repeat the test, to see if there exist any
other problem.
