To replace, perform the steps in the reverse order and then re-season the X-ray tube and
confirm the alignment of the X-ray source.
1. Secure the X-ray Source to the base bracket using four (4) screws.
2. Place the Funnel Gasket on the top of the X-ray Source, aligning the bolt holes.
3. Secure the Funnel to the Gasket and the X-ray Source using six (6) bolts.
4. Slide the new unit into the XR3D but do NOT secure in place.
5. Replace the funnel lead shielding and secure the funnel bracket to the XR3D using four (4)
bolts.
6. Plug in the JB5 Interface and the 7-pin Molex into the X-ray Source.
7. Plug the power cord to the Power Distribution Unit.
8. Plug in the XR3D to the wall unit.
9. Re-season the X-ray Tube (see Error! Reference source not found. Error! Reference
source not found. ).
10. Perform the X-ray Alignment test (

11. Bolt the X-ray Source bracket into place.
12. Press the UPS power button to turn the UPS power supply back on.
13. Replace and secure the back (or front) access panel using the security screws.
6.12 Remove and Replace the Keypad
If the keypad messages do not appear on the keypad message area, or the buttons do not
respond, the keypad control box should be replaced. To remove and replace the keypad,
proceed as follows:
Tools: Screwdriver with Security Chuck
10mm Socket Wrench (with extender)
To access the keypad control box, proceed as follows:
1. Unplug the scanner power cable from the wall receptacle.
2. Using a screwdriver with the security chuck, remove the (2 or 4) security screws (M6 x 25
SS machine screw with a 6 point security head) on the base front (to access the UPS).
3. Turn off the UPS by pressing the power button.
4. Remove two (2) ¼ hex bolts at the bottom of the front tunnel cover and remove the tunnel
cover.
