1. Remove a damaged pin.
2. Cut the wire, crimp, and solder on a new pin.
3. Insert the pin into the male side of the connector.
4. Repeat for female side of the connector.
5. Push and click the two sides of the new Molex connector.
6.10 Replace a Photo Sensor
There are two photo sensor pairs at each end of the tunnel. If the red light beam in the tunnel
does not line up with the two alignment holes, one of the sensors in a pair may require
adjustment.
Tools: Screwdriver with Security Chuck
10mm Socket Wrench
Phillips screwdriver
To access the photo sensor, proceed as follows:
1. Unplug the scanner power cable from the wall receptacle.
2. Using a screwdriver with the security chuck, remove the (2 or 4) security screws (M6 x 25
SS machine screw with a 6 point security head) on the base front (to access the UPS) and
rear access panel.

Remove the security screws and remove the back base access panel to access the
emitter.

Remove the security screws and remove the front base access panel to access the
sensor.
3. Turn off the UPS by pressing the power button.
4. Remove two (2) ¼ hex bolts at the bottom of the back (or front) tunnel cover and remove the
tunnel cover.
The photo sensor is a small grey box, 1x1/4x1/2, with a wire. It is installed on small brackets
facing into the tunnel
5. Ensure the two (2) mounting screws holding the unit in place (Phillips Screwdriver), are tight.
6. Ensure the Molex connector is connected and the wires are secure.
